Lay of the Land

Navigating a new system is one of the biggest hurdles to becoming an expert with that system.

Why should I read this?

Juice is a full-featured system that integrates different metering technologies, GIS systems, CIS systems, customer communications, and more. Juice will allow a full deployment of customers linked to their correct tariff, tax, meter, point of connection, and more. The good news: Juice takes care of the heavy lifting!

This manual is intended to be a reference guide for any system user. Often roles and responsibilities expand over time; this manual will make sure you have the knowledge you need to take care of your customers in Juice.

This manual also assumes Utiliflex staff have finished deployment, but will cover topics that will be important to discuss in the planning stages of a deployment. Often, critical system components will already be configured. To be able to manage the system correctly, it is recommended to review the manual before making changes or transacting.

What does Juice do?

Juice manages the relationship between a customer and a utility to allow customers to buy power on their terms.

What are portals?

Juice can support multiple unique configurations in one system by using a portal concept. Portals can be used for different territories with unique tax or tariff structures, different currencies, or different accounting practices. Any combination of these will cause a single portal to become difficult to keep up to date. While managing two or more installations may be a pain if the differences are, like using euros and dollars in the same system, then one portal would be recommended. On the other hand, if you have one tax structure for one customer base and a vastly different tax structure for another customer base, then separate portals would be recommended.
